What this log is for

Keep a record you can explain.

What is captured. A date, business reason, start and end postcode, and business miles — the practical details HMRC asks employees to include when submitting mileage logs.

How the estimate works. For cars and vans in 2026/27, the first 10,000 business miles use 55p per mile and subsequent miles use 25p. This tool applies the bands across the running tax-year total.

What it does not decide. It does not establish that a journey is eligible, choose between simplified and actual vehicle costs, submit a claim, or retain evidence for you.

Privacy and limits

Your journey data stays on your device.

Entries exist only in this page while it is open. Download the CSV yourself if you want a record to keep; refreshing, closing the page, or clearing the rows removes the current log.

Always check the current official guidance before relying on a rate or making a claim. If you are self-employed, keep accurate records of business expenses and identify your business transactions.
