A comparison, not a payroll result

Hours and pay rules depend on the actual job.

This is simple gross-pay arithmetic: annual pay ÷ (paid hours per week × paid weeks), or the reverse. It does not decide whether a role is salaried or hourly, what counts as paid time, or whether any overtime rule applies.

Taxes, benefits, bonuses, commissions, equity, unpaid breaks, sick leave, holiday arrangements, overtime eligibility, local minimum-wage rules, and payroll deductions can change a real offer. For covered nonexempt U.S. employees, federal overtime rules generally apply after 40 hours in a workweek; check the applicable employer and local rules rather than treating this comparison as legal or payroll advice.
