Use it as a planning check

PPI describes image detail at a chosen physical size.

Adobe describes 300 PPI as a common standard for detailed prints viewed up close, while larger work can use lower resolution when it is viewed from farther away. Adobe also notes that commercial printing requirements vary by press and screen frequency.

Use the printer's required dimensions, bleed, colour profile, format, and production specification as the final instruction. This calculator does not assess image sharpness, image content, resampling, crop, printer dots, bleed, colour, file format, licensing, or any printer's acceptance rules.
