Free local laser-cut fit check

Measure the slot.
Draw the fit.

Use one test cut and the sheet in front of you to calculate a drawing slot width with a simple clearance allowance.

1 · Measure the test slot

2 · Set the intended fit

One test, one setup

Carry the measured change forward.

The test slot change is measured test slot − drawn test slot. The calculator subtracts that change from the finished width you want: measured material thickness plus your chosen clearance. It therefore gives a width to draw, not a machine offset.

Take the test measurement from the same material and cutting setup you plan to use. Make a separate test whenever your material or setup changes, and use the final project's own measurements if a fit matters.

This calculator does not set laser power, speed, focus, air assist, or other machine settings; assess material safety; determine press-fit strength; generate a cutting file; inspect a machine; or guarantee a finished assembly. It only transforms the measurements you enter.
